Low winter sunshine brings an ethereal light even to Manchester, and here illuminates three people in a row. Two are on their phones, while the third appears to look on in disgust. The couple in the background, framed by an arch, couldn't care less.
I love moments like these when there is clearly something going on, but whatever it is will remain a mystery.
The low sunlight casts long shadows in the background and reflects strongly off the wet pavement blocks. The two women in the foreground are discussing something of significance - the pointing finger is reinforcing something, while the other nervously twists a lock of hair.
This was one occasion when I was very pleased neither looked up and saw my camera.
